Cuddling in Bed

I know I've already posted this picture, but so cute!!

A couple nights ago Lydia was in bed trying to go to sleep but I could tell something was bothering her.  I climbed into bed with her and she cuddled up to my chest.
Mommy, I'm so lonely.

You're lonely honey?  Why?

I just want my sisters to come down from Heaven.  When they come they will say, Oh Lydia I missed you so much!!  And I will make them smile.

Your sisters?  Are they coming soon?

In a little bit, I just miss them so much.  And my brothers, I miss my brothers.  But my sisters are coming soon.

It was so cute and broke my heart just a little bit.  But who knows, maybe she is aware of a lot more that I am.  Probably, since she was the last one to be with her siblings, she might have a better memory right now :o)

I just think it is so cute that she came up with this all on her own!

Bee Sting...

Poor thing... It was a HORRIBLE day! We found a wounded wasp in our house and so I think (and the vet affirmed) that is what caused this. The swelling went down quite a bit in these pictures. On Sunday his left eye was swollen almost completely and his muzzle was HUGE. He was allergic to the Epi-shot that they gave him and had to be hospitalized so they could make sure he didn't get seriously sick. It was so scary, I was on the verge of tears all day. It kills me that he can't talk to let me know, hey a wasp just attacked me! But now he is almost back to normal so that we can celebrate his 4th birthday!

I never knew before the joys that come from making your own bread. I couldn't get the yeast right, ever, so my breads were always heavy and flat. Once I figured it out, I am hooked!
The aroma, the taste, the versatility of it. Soup bowls, Kaiser rolls, Amish rolls, Graham Flour bread, Cinnamon raisen bread and on and on and on. I love it. Last night we had homemade meatballs on homemade Kaiser rolls- yum!

Teddy Bear Tea Party!

I was very blessed to be able to attend the Louisville LDS Temple this past Saturday, all by myself. I left mid-morning on Saturday and after an almost 4 hour drive I arrived to do a session by myself, then I drove back by myself. I needed the break and time alone, and was blessed with many wonderful inspirations, one of which I want to share. I felt that as a mom I needed to be more Present. I was getting in the habit of multi-tasking with Lydia, which of course has to happen sometimes, but how long do we get to have our little ones be little? So now I remind myself to be *Present*. When I play Little People with Lydia, I really play for a long time. When I have a task that needs to be done, I find a way to involve her so that we end up playing. This is how Lydia had her tea party, I had to fold laundry and so set up the laundry basket for her to play next to me, we had so much fun that the laundry is still piled up on the couch! I'm so grateful for this memory now. Laundry will always be there to be folded, counters will always need to be wiped, bills need to be paid, work needs to be done, there will always be things that need to be completed. But I am slowing down and being present each moment with my Lydia! Plus, seriously, look at how cute she is!! Who could resist just playing with her all day?!
Lydia served hot cocoa and pizza to her adorable guests: Honey Bear, Biggest Bear and Princess Bear.
