Conversations with Lydi

Mommy, when I grow up and have my own house I want to have a yellow dog and name him Jesse.  I want to have a black dog too!! I will name him Fuzzy!  I will have two dogs a yellow dog and a brown dog.  I will live in my house with my babies and my dogs.

*sniffles*

Lydia and Emma were running around the teller lines today while I was at the bank.  They were going through the lines of "Bear Hunt" over and over again and came up with some really good actions- especially when it came time to run from the bear.  I was a little bit confused though why Emma was swimming through the river while Lydia was just running through.  Usually it is Lydia that is really into details.  When I asked her she replied that she has "face Mommy"  "You have what??"  "I have FAITH Mommy, I have lots of Faith!"

Thank you Halloween, for being the source of my child's fears.  I am so sick of this, already.  Twice today did I have to shield my daughter's eyes away from scary 'Halloween' decorations.  I am sick of how dead to anything good or uplifting our society is.  Who decided that it would be a good idea to place a 10 foot grim reaper in the front of the store where every little child can see?  Fine, other people like to scare their kids?  Other people think that it is okay to let their little kids watch whatever they watch on TV including Kill Bill (not kidding......)- that's fine.  To each their own.  But I am shielding my little ones from things that their little hearts don't need to think about.  And I am complaining to every store that thinks it is okay to place super scary decorations out in the front of their store.  Life is scary, there are evil things out there, why do we have to flaunt them?  I want as long as possible to help keep my daughter's innocence.  I think it is absolutely ridiculous that there is a holiday devoted to scaring people, and wearing skanky outfits or hey just plain lingerie and calling it your costumes.

The Pink Elephant!!!

Finally, after 3 years do I have a picture of this elephant that we pass every Sunday to church! The first one who see's it screams then the rest of us join in. Lydia was really tentitive to touch it, not sure if he was nice. I assured her that he was, in fact, fake...... Even still she wouldn't touch him!

A day at the park

I feel very blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful women! It is really nice to be able to talk, share ideas and ask parenting questions. I just wish they had all moved in 3 1/2 years ago!!

Horse Riding!!!

One of Lydia's highlights was when we got to go ride Auntie Kayla's horse. Lydia has informed me several times since that once Daddy is done with school she will be getting a horse too! She is absolutely in LOVE with horses and every where she goes now she pretends that she is bringing her pretend horse. We are lucky that we live close to her Aunt Cindy who also loves horses!

Here Lydia is with my dear friend's little son. They are already great friends, which is good because they will one day marry each other!

We had fun spending the afternoon with Joel's cousin's kids! They are such a fun family, and Lydia loved playing with her 'cousins'!
