Happy medicine

I love seeing Joel in his scrubs, first he's super hot, then it shows that all of HIS hard work is paying off. I am so so proud of him. He has worked his butt off for 3 years- STRAIGHT. Obviously that doesn't include the time before medical school preparing for the MCAT and everything, but while that was hard, it wasn't anything compared to what he has done these past 3 years. No vacations, little time off. He doesn't take weekends off, and he is still an incredible husband and father. He hasn't had anything handed to him, everything has been worked for a sacrificed for. He is AMAZING.

The pedicatric surgeon allowed him to be in the OR if he wished. He wasn't sure how he would do seeing his own daughter on the table, but jumped at the opportunity to be there for her. He was able to carry her into the ER and set her on the table and comfort her as she went under. I am so grateful for that, we were able to tell her that she wouldn't be alone and that Daddy was there the whole time. The only time he left her was when he came out to tell me that she was okay and the surgery was complete.

They gave Lydia this liquid medicine about 30 minutes before she went back that made her a little bit.... loopy. I was great fun. She was so relaxed and super silly. The anesthesiologist said that most children don't remember anything after this medicine is given to them so that don't have to have those memories. Even if she does Joel said that she was extremely relaxed the entire time until she went out.
